About the Program
Buenos Aires is the dynamic metropolis of Argentina. It offers a charming combination of European tradition and Latin attitude. Often called the "Paris of South America" for it's wide boulevards and active sidewalk cafe life and home of the tango, Buenos Aires is one of the world's most unique cities. Porteños like to boast that their city is home to over 300 theaters, 100 plus galleries, and at least 70 museums. It is definitely the most culturally creative city of the southern hemisphere.
Students live in the homes of carefully chosen families, many of whom successfully kept Pepperdine students during previous years. The experience of a "home stay" is like no other. The student will be able to embrace the culture, customs, and language of the Argentine people within the comfort of a family unit. See what students are saying about their homestays.
The University-owned facility is centrally located and houses a student center, study center, and a computer laboratory connected to the Internet. This facility also contains the visiting faculty family's living quarters, as well as the program office and classrooms.
The fall semester runs from September through early December and the spring semester runs from early February through late April. The language of instruction is English, but all students must register for a course in Spanish. Students must have completed the Spanish 151 requirement by the spring semester before going to Buenos Aires for the Academic Year.
